What Makes a Good Texas Rig Rod?

The ideal texas rig rod is around 7’2″ to 7’11” long with medium-light to heavy action. The 7’2″ + length will give you a good balance of casting distance and accuracy to help you get your bait to where you want it.

Medium light action is better for finesse baits. If you fish heavy cover often you may want to bump up to a heavy action and longer length to give you more leverage.
