What Makes a Good Spinnerbait Rod?

The ideal spinnerbait rod is around 7′ to 7’5″ long with a medium-heavy action. The longer length will give you a good balance of casting distance and accuracy to help you get your bait to where you want it.

Medium-heavy action is better for open water or light cover. If you fish heavy cover often you may want to bump up to a heavy action baitcaster.

You want reel with a fast retrieve, the 7:1 gear ratio is ideal.
